Cyber Engineering is the newest addition to ctrl:cyber’s service capability, designed to strengthen organisational foundations so systems and controls operate with confidence. This expansion broadens Ctrl’s end-to-end cyber capability, with all delivery remaining onshore.

Welcoming an Experienced Cyber Engineering Team

We are pleased to welcome a close-knit group of specialists who were part of the core management and delivery team at Shelde, later known as Ampion and Wipro Shelde.

Shelde was an Australian-founded consulting and systems integration firm recognised for deep delivery inside large enterprise and government environments, particularly across identity, complex platforms, and large-scale transformation programs. After being acquired by global services firm Wipro, the business now operates as Wipro Shelde, delivering large, structured enterprise programs within a global delivery model and broader services framework.

The team have spent years working together across major enterprise environments. That shared history shows in how they operate. Steady, thoughtful, and grounded in delivery.

Much of their work has taken place inside complex organisations, often stepping into situations that required structure and practical problem-solving. They’re accustomed to navigating busy programs, untangling priorities, and guiding teams through the next step without unnecessary complexity.

Their capability spans identity, architecture, cloud and hybrid integrations, and large-scale uplift across diverse sectors. They’ve delivered for some of Australia’s largest enterprises, building solutions designed to perform in real environments.

Their arrival adds depth to our existing cybersecurity capability at a time when strong foundations matter more than ever.

Meet the team

As a unified team, they strengthen Ctrl’s engineering capability with practical experience shaped inside high-demand settings.

What is Cyber Engineering

Cyber Engineering blends advisory insight with practical engineering. It helps organisations understand their risks and obligations, and supports them with designing, building, and implementing the technical controls that keep systems, data, and environments safe.

Key areas include:

Security Consulting and Enablement: Helping organisations strengthen their security capabilities end-to-end. From SecOps uplift and operating models to architecture, risk mitigation, service catalogues, capability development, process improvement, and strategic advisory.

Engineering and Delivery: Design, build, integrate, and optimise security solutions across on-prem and cloud environments while providing hands-on engineering and uplift support.

Core Security Solutions: Delivering end-to-end security capabilities spanning AppSec, DevSecOps, data and identity protection, endpoint and network defence, SOC platforms, cloud security, risk workflows, and full vulnerability lifecycle management.

What This Means for Organisations

Many organisations struggle to find and keep the expertise needed to navigate modern security needs. Cyber Engineering fills that gap by providing trusted advice, real world experience and hands-on capability. It allows customers to understand their risks and obligations, clarify what they actually need, and engineer practical technical outcomes that work in complex environments.

“Having the guys choose to join ctrl:cyber is a genuine inflection point for us. They’ve built and led successful cyber businesses before, and the fact they’ve decided their next chapter is with Ctrl speaks volumes about what we’re building. We’ve been very deliberate in our growth, always waiting for the right people who can elevate us in a meaningful way, and they do exactly that. Our clients will now have access to the very best engineering capability in Australia, delivered by people who’ve done this at the highest level.”

— Steve Williams, Founder, ctrl:cyber

Strengthening the End-to-End Cyber Ecosystem

Cyber Engineering enhances Ctrl’s capabilities, creating a stronger ecosystem across:

Penetration Testing: Findings can be actioned with precision through architectural uplift, identity hardening, and systematic remediation.

Governance Risk and Compliance: Recommendations gain practical depth, with engineering support ensuring governance can land cleanly and sustainably.

Risk Operations Centre:  Improved architecture creates better visibility, cleaner signals, and environments that support accurate detection and response.

A strong cyber foundation is not built by chance. It is shaped by expertise, collaboration, and decisions made with clarity.
